Is it ever really “real simple” though?

Let me answer that. No! I found this book at the drug store last night and figured that it might be worth looking at. We finally picked a date. May 22nd, and fingers crossed, it will be in Annapolis, MD on the Chesapeake Bay. I’m so worried that I won’t be able to find a nice place because we are so close to the date. I begin the search on Monday. Our honeymoon is in Vegas. I’ve never been but Chris loves it there. I’m really excited!
That’s pretty much all we have planned so far. I’m kind of freaking out. Our friends Gerry and Elaine (yes, really their names) just got married a little over a year ago and Elaine has been great! She gave me an enormous stack of wedding magazines, and she sends me random e-mails with wedding shoes and water front themed invitations ect. When my e-mail ding goes off on my phone Chris always says, “Oh no what did Elaine find for you now?” Everyone needs a friend like her!
The one piece of advice I keep getting is to do what we want, and not what pleases everyone else. Easier said than done. Already yesterday we had to do damage control over who travels to Maryland with who, and who stays where. Boo! I guess a wedding is not a free pass for your family to be nice to each other just because. Although I must say I’m proud of myself for keeping my cool, which pretty much never happens, with anything, ever.
Chris’ answer to most things seems to be “Whatever you want sweetheart” which I think might be code for “I don’t care”. Trust me, I appreciate “whatever you want” much more. I get it, guys don’t care about font size on invitations. This is totally fine by me though. I’m super organized and a get it done kind of person. My life wouldn’t exist without a calendar and to do lists. Elaine is the same way so I’m very thankful that she wants to help out. Chris wants a say in the big things, the rest is up to Elaine and I.
Top of my list tomorrow though is to get to Diamonds Direct in South Park where Chris got my amazing (see he can make good wedding choices on his own) ring, to have it re-sized. I’ve fallen in love with running. I go everyday and check in at Weight Loss Center Of Charlotte once a week. I’ve lost 75 pounds since May, 20 of that since getting engaged. Just the thought alone of looking down and realizing it fell off somewhere makes my tummy hurt. Hands down, it is the nicest thing I have ever had in my entire life.
Anyway, those are just some random wedding thoughts. I know I’m not the only one that has planned or is planning a wedding and I’d love to hear all about yours, or your advice and experiences. You can leave a comment or hit me up on e-mail. taylorshay@kiss951.com
